Description
Wade's Green Farmhouse is an early 17th-century farmhouse that has undergone alterations and additions over the years. It features brick nogged timber framing and painted brickwork, topped with a tiled roof. The building is single storey with an attic and has three window bays in the timber framing, along with a two-bay brick wing to the east. A 20th-century wing has been added to the south, constructed from second-hand timbers. The ground floor and gabled dormers in the timber-framed section have replaced leaded lattice casements, while the brick wing has plain casements without leaded lights. Inside, the farmhouse showcases ovolo moulded beams and joists, as well as bevelled beams and joists, primarily in the brick east wing. Some timbers are visible in the walls of the west wing, indicating that this section is of a later origin than the east wing.
