Description
Cornmill Cottage is a 19th-century mill building, now used as a house, located on Pepper Street in Mobberley. The building is constructed of red English garden wall bond brick with a slate roof. It is two storeys high with a basement. The front has three blocked doorways, one centrally and one to each side, each with splayed heads. There are three 2-light casement windows on the ground floor, two to the left of the central doorway and one to the right, each with three by four panes per light. A corresponding three windows are positioned on the first floor. A single 2-light basement window is located on the left side. A 19th-century porch abuts the left side and a 20th-century porch abuts the right. Gabled ends feature 2-light casement windows at the first floor level. Significant 19th and 20th-century additions have been made to the rear of the building.
