Description
Ashleigh is a former mill or industrial building, now a house, located at the end of a row in Painswick. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of squared and dressed stone with a slate roof and brick gable stacks. The building has three storeys and a basement, featuring three windows with 12-pane sashes that lack glazing bars on the first floor. Centrally, there is an arched light at the ground floor that was once a doorway. The basement has grilled openings on the left and right sides. To the left, there is a porch with a cornice and a parapet blocking, which contains a 6-panel door and a fanlight, accessed by three stone steps. The back of the building has three 2-light 19th-century casements with leading on the second floor, above similar but later casements below, and there are two dormers. An extension to the right is not of special interest. The building is included in the register primarily for its group value.
