Description

This is a milepost located approximately 75 meters south of Marsh Lane Bridge (No. 91) on the Shropshire Union Canal, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a circular post with a domed top. The cambered plate is divided into three panels, which are inscribed with the following information: "NANTWICH 1 MILE", "AUTHERLY JUNCTION 38 MILES", and "NORBURY JUNCTION 22 1/2 MILES".
