Description

Nos. 153 and 155, Welsh Row are a group of buildings demonstrating different periods of construction. No. 153 dates to the 17th century, with a roughcast front concealing an earlier timber frame, visible on the end gable and at the rear. It has two storeys and features two 18th-century wooden casement windows, a modern door, and a 19th-century gabled wooden porch, all under a slate roof. No. 155 is an early 19th-century building constructed of red brick, also with two storeys. It has a splayed, projecting front with a hipped slate roof and three sash windows, each with keyblocks and plain lintels. A moulded wooden doorcase with a rectangular fanlight is above a six-panelled door. At the time of inspection, No. 155 was undergoing restoration.
