Description

Wilbraham's Almshouses are a row of six cottages built in 1870, arranged in two identical blocks. Constructed of red brick, each block features two slightly projecting gabled bays with decorative timber framing and spike finials on the gables. The buildings are one storey plus an attic and have four windows with cambered heads and iron lattice casements. There are two gabled dormers and three simple doorways with shallow pointed arched heads and batten doors. The cottages also have clustered stacks with shafts set diagonally and are roofed with tiles. Above each central doorway, there is a cast-iron armorial plaque. Nos 112 to 128 form a group.
