Description
The National Westminster Bank is a building located on King Street in Knutsford, dating back to around 1800. It has a brick construction topped with a slate roof and stands three storeys tall with a three-window range. The central entrance features an open pediment above the doorcase and a fanlight over the door. To the right of the entrance is a stone pedimented tripartite window for the banking room, while to the left is a 16-pane sash window, with an additional doorway beyond that has a four-panelled door and an overlight. The upper windows are all 16-pane sashes with flat-arched stuccoed heads. A moulded cornice runs along the parapet, and there is an end wall stack. The building includes an original or near-contemporary single-bay extension on the ground floor to the right, which was later extended at the upper level. The interior has not been inspected.
