Description
No. 88 King Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, likely dating from the 16th century. It features a timber-framed structure with a slate roof, framed in square panels and some arch-bracing. The roof has a queen strut design with a collar. The gable faces the street and the building is two stories high. There is a doorway that leads up steps to the left, and a small canted oriel window has been added to the ground floor. The upper storey juts out, supported by a moulded bressumer on console brackets. There is a long window on the upper floor, which has a canopy above and beaded moulding below. The eaves are overhanging and adorned with bargeboards featuring a pendant finial. The interior has not been inspected.
