Description
Nos. 115, 117, 117A, and 117B on King Street form a terrace of four houses that have been converted into shops and offices. They date from the late 18th century, with a possible earlier origin, and feature an attic storey added in 1899. The buildings are constructed of brick with stone dressings and have a Welsh slate roof. They rise to three storeys and an attic, presenting a seven-window range. Although the original shop fronts have been replaced, one original doorway remains, complete with an overlight and a flat-arched gauged brick head featuring a keystone. The upper windows are all four-pane sashes, each with flat-arched gauged brick heads and keystones, along with continuous sill bands. The attic is distinguished by four irregular gables, which are rendered and topped with a dentilled brick cornice. The buildings also have end wall stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
