Description

A lamp standard with dwarf piers and chains, dating from circa 1900, located in the forecourt of Doxford House. The arrangement defines a semicircular plot directly opposite the forebuilding. The structure comprises stone piers with prominent cornices and iron ball finials, connecting wrought-iron chains with large spikes. The lamp standard itself has a bulbous, rusticated base, supporting an elaborately moulded design with a large lantern, a pyramidal top, and a spike finial.
