Description

Burdon Hall is a house that has been converted into separate dwelling and office spaces. It dates from the early 19th century and incorporates a mid-18th century house on the left, with some later alterations. The building is constructed of rendered limestone with ashlar dressings and has a roof made of Welsh slate.

It has two storeys and features eleven windows arranged in a pattern of three, five, and three. The central door is topped by an oblong fanlight and is set within a shallow Greek Doric porch. There are canted bays at each end of the building, defined by four giant pilasters. The ground floor has modern fixed lights, while the first floor has sash windows with glazing bars, all featuring projecting stone cills. The eaves cornice is bracketed on the pilasters, with a higher central block. The canted bays have hipped roofs, and there are two corniced panelled chimneys on the central block, along with one on each ridge behind the canted bays.

Inside, the main roof of the left wing includes a cupboard with a two-panelled door and shaped shelves.
