Description

The piers and walls to the north of Westburn House, now part of St Anthony's Secondary School, date from the mid-19th century. The structure features ashlar gate piers and brick piers that flank the walls at the entrance to the house. There are three square ashlar piers for both pedestrian and vehicle entrances, each with a plinth, an entablature, a dentilled deep cornice, and a flat square coping on top. Low serpentine walls flank the piers and have moulded ashlar coping, ending in two plain square brick piers. The left brick pier remains unaltered and features moulded ashlar coping, while the right wall concludes with a renewed brick pier. The railings and gates have also been renewed.
