Description
No. 5 Albion Place is a house, now partly used as offices, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of English garden wall bond brick with an ashlar plinth and dressings, topped with a concrete-tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a basement, featuring four windows facing Albion Place and one window on Mary Street. There are steps leading up to a renewed door with an overlight, located in the third bay, which is recessed and framed by pilasters and a keyed architrave in a round brick arch. The windows have painted wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills, and they are fitted with recessed sashes that include horizontal glazing bars. The hipped roof is complemented by brick chimneys at the left end and at the rear eaves on the right. The right side of the building has similar window glazing, including a first-floor sash and a ground-floor canted bay that features pilasters and a dentilled cornice.
