Description
3 and 4 Albion Place are two houses from the early 19th century, currently used as a club and offices. They are constructed of English garden wall bond brick, with No. 3 on the left being painted and featuring ashlar dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. Each house has two storeys and a basement, with two windows. The central two bays project slightly. There are steps leading up to recessed central six-panel doors, which have radiating glazing bars in the overlights and are framed by panelled pilasters at No. 3; No. 4 has alterations. Both doors have panelled architraves set within round brick arches. No. 3 has renewed casements, while No. 4 features sashes with glazing bars, all recessed with painted dressings. A first-floor sill band runs across the central projecting bays, with projecting stone sills on the other windows and wedge stone lintels above all. The eaves have an ashlar gutter cornice and parapet coping. The area in front of No. 3 is concrete-filled, while No. 4 has concrete steps leading down to a renewed door and a renewed window. The roof of No. 3 includes a wide square-headed dormer with 20th-century glazing, and there are brick chimneys at each end.
