Description

Boldon House is a house dating to circa 1790. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, with stone dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. The house has two storeys and five sash windows with glazing bars. A central, pedimented Tuscan doorcase features a pulvinated frieze, framing a six-panelled door. When open, the door is mirrored by a similarly panelled reveal on the opposite side. The building features bands and a moulded eaves cornice, and a hipped roof with three stone-corniced brick chimneys on two cross ridges to the rear.

A low brick wall, also in Flemish bond, serves as the south boundary for Boldon House and the adjacent property at number 64, returning to number 64. The wall has stone coping that continues with the tops of two dwarf sandstone piers in front of number 70. Inserted piers are located in front of number 64 and are rendered.
