Description

This is a 17th-century house with alterations from the 18th century and more recent work. The exterior is stuccoed, with a pantiled roof. It is two storeys high, with three windows; the first-floor windows are modern replacements for earlier sashes, and the ground-floor windows are tripartite sashes. A door from the early 19th century, with modern glazing in the upper half, has a moulded canopy supported by brackets. The steeply pitched roof, renewed with pantiles, has stone coping and corniced brick end chimneys.

Inside, the central passage has a panelled dado and a round-headed arch with a panelled soffit and keystone motif. The staircase features a dado, plain balusters and a handrail. A room to the east of the front entrance has a wide, 4-centred arched timber lintel to the chimney, with a scroll-stopped moulded chamfer and evidence of a former central projection. Exposed first-floor joists have run-out stops, and the roof timbers appear to be upper crucks with through purlins.
