Description

Boldon Mill is a tower mill dated 1834. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with roughly dressed cills and lintels. The mill stands three storeys high, with entrances on the north and south sides. Small square windows are present on all four sides at each floor, except on the west side at the first floor. A row of stone corbels, approximately 1 metre above the present ground level, is followed by a row of holes, some containing beam ends, about 2 metres above the corbels. The cap and sails have been removed. The interior retains at least one floor and some machinery. The mill was derelict at the time of survey.
