Description

Boldon Lodge is a house, now divided into two separate dwellings, dating from the 18th century. The property is set back from the street, with the left-hand entrance bay raised to two storeys in the 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof. The main house is two storeys high and has four sash windows with glazing bars; the second window from the left is a round-headed staircase window. A curved, single-storey porch in the third bay from the left features two curved windows and an open-pedimented Tuscan doorcase framing an eight-panelled door with a round fanlight. The roof has gable stone coping and two brick chimneys. The second house is two storeys high and consists of one bay, with a door and doorcase similar to those of the main house, but with flat pilasters and a decorated fanlight. Its lower roof incorporates stone gable coping and a single brick chimney. A continuous stone band runs along the ground floor level.
