Description

The town wall located at the rear of numbers 1-25 odd on Gallowgate in Newcastle upon Tyne is a Grade I listed structure dating from the late 13th century. It is built from large sandstone blocks and stands approximately 3 metres high. This section of the wall partially adjoins the rear of numbers 1-15 and 17-25 Gallowgate. It is also designated as a scheduled ancient monument.
