Description

The Town Wall in Newcastle upon Tyne is a significant historical structure dating from the late 13th century to the early 14th century. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone and features an almost full-height section that extends southwards from Forth Street. This section of the wall is partly obscured by the buildings of the former Federation Brewery. The Town Wall is recognized as a scheduled ancient monument, highlighting its importance in the region's history.
