Description
The gate piers and wall in front of the Church of St. Andrew, along with the attached pant, are notable features from the 18th century, with mid-19th century additions. The churchyard wall and gate piers are constructed from sandstone with ashlar dressings, while the gates are made of wrought iron. The tall square piers have plinths and corbelled pyramidal coping. The walls include a plinth and chamfered coping. The pant at the north end is made of coursed squared stone, featuring deep edge moulding and incurved top corners, with a central niche that once held a tap. The high spear-headed gates are designed with dog bars on the central horizontal panel, topped with spear heads.
