Description
The former school, now a club, was built in 1874 at the expense of Matthew Bell. It is constructed from rock-faced sandstone with ashlar quoins, a plinth, and dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof featuring flat stone gable copings. The building has an L-plan layout and is one storey high. The main block consists of two bays by one bay, with a lower porch on the right side and a two-bay left return that includes a rear wing. The entrance features a recessed door in a chamfered stone surround within a set-back porch. The main block has three-light windows and the rear wing has two-light windows, all in similar stone surrounds. There are drip moulds and pointed heads above the three-light windows in the left return gable. The building is capped with three corniced ashlar chimneys.
