Description
North East Mason Farmhouse and the attached farm building are located in Brunswick, Tyne and Wear. The farmhouse and outbuilding date from around 1700, while the cottage was added in the late 18th century or early 19th century. The structures are built of coursed and squared sandstone, with the outbuilding made of rubble and featuring quoins. The roofs are covered with Welsh slate, while the outbuilding has pantiles.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of three bays, while the adjoining cottage is two bays and has one storey with a single bay for the outbuilding. The farmhouse has a central half-glazed door with a flat stone lintel, and similar lintels are found above late 19th-century sash windows in wide boxes on the first floor, as well as 20th-century fixed lights with transoms on the ground floor. The cottage features a boarded door to the left and late 19th-century sash windows with similar lintels. The end chimneys of the farmhouse are rendered and raised in yellow brick, while the cottage has an end brick chimney.
Inside the farmhouse, there is a staircase with splat balusters and some two-panelled doors within architraves.
