Description
The boundary wall alongside the garden of The Rectory is a high wall dating from the late 18th century, which was refaced in the mid-19th century. The side facing Church Street is made of rock-faced, squared, and snecked random sandstone rubble, while the southern (garden) side features late 18th-century brickwork. The wall gradually steps up from either side of a central round-headed opening that includes a keystone, voussoirs, flush quoins, and impost bands. It has sloped copings and ball finials at each step. This wall is included for its group value with the Priory Gatehouse.
