Description
This is a late 18th-century house and shop located on the north side of Church Street, Guisborough. The building is constructed of dressed sandstone, with the south elevation rendered smooth and painted on the east side. It has a clay pantile roof with hipped corners and stone ridge copings, and incorporates two mid-20th century brick chimney stacks.
The south elevation features two mid-20th century shop fronts on the ground floor. Above, there are two sash windows to the first floor; the window on the left has a late 19th-century keystone, while the window on the right is a late 18th-century design with glazing bars. A keystone is visible on the right-hand side, indicating the position of a previously blocked window.
The east elevation has a mid-20th century shop front on the left-hand side. A central six-panelled door is topped with a rectangular fanlight featuring glazing bars. To the right of the door is a three-light Yorkshire sash window with glazing bars. Three sash windows with glazing bars are located on the first floor.
