Description

This milepost, located approximately 40 yards east of the Red Lion Inn, dates from the early to mid-19th century and is made of cast iron. It features an oval tablet with two oval facets mounted on a short iron post. The milepost is inscribed with "BEL" (for Belford) on one side and "COR" (for Cornhill) on the other, along with the distances of "11 8 MILES" and "FORD 1" on the top.
