Description

Ford Smithy is a smithy built in 1863 for the Marchioness of Waterford. It is constructed from snecked stone and features a Welsh slate roof. The building is single storey and has three bays. The front includes boarded double doors set within a raised horseshoe-shaped surround. To the left, there is a three-light window, while to the right, there is a two-light window with shuttered lower sections and four-pane casements above. The roof is gabled, with a ridge stack and a stack at the left end. On the left gable, there is a datestone displaying the monogram of Lady Waterford.
