Description
The former cart shed, located approximately 30 yards west of Hetherslaw Mill, dates back to the 18th century and is currently used for storage. It is constructed from roughly-coursed stone with stone dressings and features a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys, with the ground floor being open and supported by 19th-century square piers and a wooden lintel. The roof is steeply pitched and gabled, with a reverse-stepped gable on the right side. The coping on the left gable has been renewed. There are outside stone steps leading to a boarded door on the right return. Inside, the shed contains 18th-century collar-beam trusses and two rows of purlins.
