Description

Ford Bridge is a bridge built in 1809, which incorporates one arch from an earlier bridge likely dating to the 16th century. The structure is made of ashlar stone and features two main broad segmental arches that have arch bands and a triangular cutwater between them. On the west side, there is a flood arch; one side of this arch is a high round arch from the 18th century, while the other side has a shallow segmental arch with chamfered voussoirs and four large close-set ribs that are square in section.
