Description

The Dene Bridge at Ford Castle was built between 1860 and 1870 for the Marchioness of Waterford. It is constructed from rock-faced stone and features three round arches supported by high battered piers that include cornice bands. There is a chamfered band at the base of the parapet, which has two corbelled-out triangular passing places on each side. The bridge also has square end piers and convex quadrant approach walls that match the end piers.
