Description
This is a barn located 6 metres west of Abbey View in Blanchland, dating from the 18th century and enlarged in the 19th century. The structure is built of rubble with cut quoins and dressings, topped with a stone slate roof. The east elevation features one storey with three bays, each containing a boarded door. The first bay has a door set in an alternating-block surround, while the second bay has a door in a chamfered surround. To the right of the second bay are windows, and there are three additional doors. The gabled left return has a boarded pitching door in a stone surround, with twin pigeon holes above in the gable, which is part of the 18th-century section that was widened to the west and heightened in the 19th century. There is a slit vent at the apex of the 19th-century gable. The right return shows boarded doors and two triangular vents in the gable.
