Description

The range of outbuildings to the west of Anick Farmhouse dates from the early 19th century and includes stables and shelter sheds. Constructed from rubble with cut dressings, the building features a Welsh slate roof and stands two storeys tall with six bays. At the left end, there are two segmental-headed arches, and a yard entrance with a similar arch and glinting is located on the right. There is a doorway in the fourth bay, framed by an alternating-block surround, and the building has 12-pane Yorkshire sash windows, some of which have been renewed. All openings are adorned with chamfered stone surrounds. The first floor of the two left bays is a 1985 addition, designed in the same style, and the building has a coped end gable with moulded kneelers and a stepped, corniced stack. At the time of the survey, the outbuildings were undergoing conversion to domestic use and are included for their group value. A 20th-century extension to the rear is not considered of special interest.
