Description
Homeaway is a house dated 1694, featuring the initials I A on the lintel. It was raised in the later 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with long, roughly-shaped quoins and cut dressings, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. It has two storeys and three bays. The left-of-centre entrance consists of a vertical-panelled door set within a moulded surround that has a flat-pointed head in a square frame. To the left of the door is a two-light window, while to the right is a three-light window, both in stepped stone surrounds with renewed mullions. The first-floor windows are primarily two lights, except for the three-light window on the right, which reuses older sills from the 19th century. The eaves overhang, and there are stepped stacks at the ends. On Ordnance Survey maps, the building is shown as 'The Cottage.' There is a single-storey shed to the left, which is not of interest.
