Description
East Oakwood Farmhouse is an early 19th-century house located in Acomb Oakwood. The house is constructed of coursed rubble with cut quoins and dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-bay design. The central entrance features a six-panel door with a four-pane overlight, set within an alternating-block surround. The windows are sixteen-pane sash windows with tooled lintels and sills. The gables are coped and have stepped-and-banded end stacks. The rear elevation includes a boarded door in an alternating-block surround below a round-headed stair window with radial glazing and a keyed stone surround. The outer bays on the rear feature a four-pane sash window with old bars and a part-slatted window, with sixteen-pane Yorkshire sashes above.
