Description
The attached outbuilding range to the east of Christon Bank Farmhouse is an 18th-century stable and outbuilding range, constructed in several phases. The stable section is built of squared stone, with some parts rendered, while the outbuilding is made of rubble. It features a Welsh slate roof with one white brick chimney stack and is a long single-storey structure connected to the east end of the farmhouse.
On the south side, the stable has a blocked doorway with a window inserted, flanked by sash windows that have small-paned upper sections and boarded lower sections. There are two segmental arches on the right, with the right arch containing vertical-panelled double doors and the left arch partially blocked with an inserted boarded door. The right end gable is coped and topped with a weathervane. The lower outbuilding to the right is blank on this side.
On the north side, the stable features boarded double doors under a timber lintel at the right end, similar doors under a segmental arch at the left end, and a boarded door and window in between. The outbuilding to the left has two boarded doors (one with a four-pane overlight), two part-slatted windows, and a 20th-century sliding door, with the roof hipped to the left.
This building is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
