Description

This is a milepost located approximately 200 yards north of Ewart Park West Lodge, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape with a rounded back and a canted top. One face of the milepost is inscribed with "MOR" for Morpeth, while the opposite side features "COR" for Cornhill, along with the numbers 35 and 9. The top of the milepost is marked with "L E" for London and Edinburgh, and the numbers 322 and 56 are also present.
