Description
Akeld Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge built from random rubble and ashlar, featuring ashlar dressings. It has a Welsh slate roof and brick chimneys. The building is a single storey with an attic.
The facade includes a central canted ashlar bay that has three small windows with moulded surrounds and hoodmoulds. To the right of this bay is a boarded two-leaf door, also with a similar surround. The roof is half-hipped with overhanging eaves, which are supported at the corners by square panelled columns that have bases and moulded cornices.
Each return of the building features a ground floor and an attic window, both with moulded surrounds and hoodmoulds. There is a 20th-century addition at the rear, which is not of special interest.
