Description
Akeld Manor is a house that dates from the 18th century or early 19th century, with an earlier core. It is rendered with ashlar dressings and has a Scottish slate roof. The building has two storeys and features six irregular bays, with a lower one-bay section to the right.
The doorway in the third bay has a two-leaf, half-glazed door with margined glazing bars and an overlight, framed by a raised chamfered surround. The windows in the first three bays are 12-pane sashes set in raised surrounds. To the right of the door are double 12-pane sashes, and on the ground floor, there are three 12-pane sashes with segmental lintels. On the first floor, there is one 12-pane sash and one double 12-pane sash. The gabled roof has one ridge and two end stacks.
Inside, the manor features six-panelled doors, internal shutters, and two staircases with stick balusters and wreathed handrails.
