Description

The following buildings shall be added:-

NT 9852 - NT 9952 QUAY WALLS 622-/11/10001 Nos 16 and 17

GV II Two houses. Late C18 and c1870. Coursed rubble and ashlar, with slate roof and 4 gable stacks. Moulded cill bands and quoins. South front, 3 storey, 3 windows. Central doorway, with 6 panel door and plain fanlight in moulded ashlar Doric pilaster surround topped by entablature. Above a round headed plain sash with moulded ashlar surround topped with a pediment. Above again a similar window with a flat hood. To the right a 3 storey square bay window with 4 plain sashes to each floor. The ground floor windows are topped with semi- circular panels with carved foliage, and the windows on the 2 storeys above are topped with carved swags. Each storey has an order of pilasters at the corners, Doric, Ionic and Corinthian at the upper level, the whole surmounted by dentilated eaves. To the left a pair of plain sashes on each floor decorated in the same manner as the right bays. North front, the 5 storey rear front incorporates an earlier building and has mainly plain sashes
