GV II

House. Early C18, remodelled c.1760 and internally c.1810. Dressed stone with Welsh slate roof and old brick chimneys. 3 storeys, 3 bays. Mid C18 door, with decorative panels and patterned fanlight, in surround with attached Ionic columns and ogee hood. 4-pane sashes on ground floor, 12-pane sashes on 1st floor, 9-pane casements on second floor. Blocked, narrower early C18 windows visible on left. Gabled roof with flat coping and end stacks.

Interior: Staircase with stick balusters and turned newels; 2-stage handrail with fluted lower rail separated from rounded upper rail by tiny turned knobs. On first floor, 2 archways framing doors to bedrooms; to left a broad elliptical arch with attached Roman Doric columns; to right a similar round-headed doorway. Door surrounds, window frames and all other woodwork have fluted decoration. Fireplace in 1st floor room with attached Ionic colonettes, Greek key frieze and swags.
