Description
No. 3 North Bank is a house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of pebbledashed whinstone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof with renewed brick chimneys. The building has two storeys and three bays. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door topped by a four-pane overlight. The windows are 12-pane sash types. The roof is steeply pitched and gabled, with flat coping, kneelers, and end stacks. At the rear, there is a cat-slide roof over a two-storey outshut.
Inside, the house contains an early to mid-18th century dog-leg staircase with an open string, turned balusters, and a moulded, ramped handrail. The first-floor fireplace features a shouldered architrave, pulvinated frieze, and cornice, along with an early 19th-century cast-iron grate. The doors are three-panel style, with a large single lower panel. In the hall, there are two round arches with moulded panelling.
