Description
The Black Swan Hotel is an inn dating from the early 19th century, located on the east side of Belford Market Place. The building is roughcast with painted stone dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The central entrance has a half-glazed door set in a raised surround, topped by a late 19th-century decorative ironwork hood. To the right, there is a tripartite bar window that includes an architrave, a frieze with shaped ends, and a cornice, with an arched centre light. The remaining windows are 12-pane sashes, also in raised surrounds. There is a band at the first floor level, and the gabled roof has flat coping, a kneeler, and a rendered brick end stack.
