Description

No. 101 Newgate Street is a house from the early 19th century, built of ashlar stone with a pantiled roof. It has two storeys and two bays, with each bay set in a full-height shallow recess. The left side features a convex quadrant and outer roll moulding, while the right side has a hollow chamfer. Both bays have a broad hollow-chamfered top. The left bay contains a six-panel door with an overlight above it. There are twelve-pane sash windows throughout. To the left of the door, a round-headed archway with a fanlight provides access to Newminster Terrace. The building has a hollow-chamfered cornice and a gabled roof with kneelers, flat coping, and brick end stacks.
