Description
Netherwitton Farmhouse is a house and cottage that have been combined into a single dwelling. The house likely dates from the early 18th century, while the cottage is from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The house is constructed of rubble with stone dressings, and the cottage is built from coursed stone with dressings, both featuring slate roofs.
The house has three storeys and three symmetrical bays. It has a six-panel door with a margined overlight that includes 19th-century colored glazing, set in a raised alternating-block surround, and is flanked by late 19th-century sash windows. The first-floor windows have been altered to sliding sashes, all featuring slightly projecting sills. The first-floor windows on the right side and in the right return have decorative guards.
To the left is the cottage, which has one and a half storeys and two bays. It features a renewed door with a margined overlight and 19th-century colored glazing in a chamfered surround, with an altered sash window to the left. There are also two gabled dormers with casements and decorative bargeboards.
