Netherwitton War Memorial

The Netherwitton War Memorial is a First World War memorial made of sandstone, with an unknown date of commission, architect, and sponsor. It features a decorated wheel cross mounted on a tapering pedestal, which stands on a square stepped stone base that rests on two octagonal base steps, all set on a bed of stones. The head and shaft of the cross are adorned with Celtic interlace carving.

The front of the pedestal is inscribed with the names of 36 fallen soldiers from the First World War, along with the inscription "LEST WE FORGET" in incised Gothic lettering. In front of the memorial, there is a rusticated stone wall with coping, ornate gate posts, and a decorated wrought iron gate. This well-maintained memorial is located in a picturesque setting and is deserving of its Grade II listing.
