Description
Tidestone, located approximately 200 yards south-west of Heddon Farmhouse, is a boundary marker from 1783, indicating the limit of jurisdiction of the Port of Tyne Authority. It is made of sandstone and features a tapering square shape, standing about 3 feet high with an arched top. The south side is inscribed with the Newcastle upon Tyne shield and the date 1783.
