Description

Pinfold is a structure likely dating from the 18th century, which was restored and repaired in 1974. It features a round-topped rubble wall that forms a six-sided enclosure, with an opening at the lower end beneath a round-copped lintel and a stone sill. Inside, there is a low retaining wall made of coursed squared sandstone, and a stone-lined drain that runs from this wall to the center of the north wall, which previously contained a stream. There is also an arched opening on the south side that leads to the street at the top of the bank.
