Description

Number 4 on Barmoor Lane is a house dated 1752, as indicated on the door lintel, which features the names John and Jane Newton. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone and has a Welsh slate roof with a brick chimney. It is two storeys high and has two bays. The front features a wide 20th-century door set in a plain surround, topped by an inscribed lintel and a moulded elliptical stone hood supported by curved brackets. The first floor has stone lintels and cills for the 20th-century cross casements. There is an early 20th-century square bay window on the ground floor to the right. The right end of the house has quoins, and it has a fairly high-pitched roof with a stack at the right end.
