Description
Cross House is a late 18th-century house built of coursed squared sandstone with a plinth. It features a low-pitched roof made of Lakeland slates, which has flat stone gable coping and two truncated end brick chimneys. The house is two storeys high and has three windows. The east elevation facing the Green has a central double door flanked by two large sash windows with glazing bars, all set in plain reveals. Above these are three wooden mullioned and transomed windows, each with a sill band and splayed stone lintels. There is a moulded eaves band along the roofline. On the right side, there is a round-headed window with broad intersecting tracery, a brick arch, and stone key and impost blocks at the peak of the gable. The left return has two similar windows, and there are two more on the rear elevation.
