Description
This boundary stone, located about 500 meters northeast of Shotley Spa, dates from the early 19th century. It is a low, round-topped sandstone slab. The stone is inscribed with the letter "W" on the side facing Northumberland and the letter "E" on the side facing County Durham, likely indicating the western and eastern boundaries.
